Summary
This two-year inclusive co-production study will address inequities in cancer survivorship for people with intellectual disability by exploring their experiences, needs and preferences, alongside those of healthcare professionals, family and friends, and paid disability support workers. Findings will inform the co-design and evaluation of tailored, accessible survivorship resources and supports to improve cancer care and outcomes for people with intellectual disability.
Impact
This study will identify areas of unmet need and lead positive change in equitable and accessible health practice for people with intellectual disability and cancer. Resources developed from this study will be freely available on Cancer Council websites.
