Summary

Customised Employment (CE) is a person-centred, strengths-based approach that recognises the individual’s capabilities and talents and builds community inclusion. While CE has been utilised successfully in USA for many years, CE is relatively new to Australia. However, there are issues reported anecdotally with the successful implementation of CE. This study examines what issues are hampering the implementation of CE.

Impact

This study will examine Customised Employment in the Australian context and offer policy and practice recommendations for successful implementation of Customised Employment to ensure best possible employment outcomes for people with disability.
