Summary

Enabling University Education for Students with Intellectual Disability. This project delivers an accredited Integrated Post Secondary Education (IPSE) program offering university education, career planning, work placements and a pathway into open employment for people with intellectual disability. The project works on curriculum development and learning and teaching design of a university Diploma for students with intellectual disability. This project aims to show the efficacy of IPSE in Australia and make recommendations for practice and the funding model for such programs. This forms part of a broader plan to drive systems change and build the IPSE movement in Australia.

Impact

Developing an Australia first program that enhances equity, improves employment outcomes, and drives systemic change for the inclusion of people with intellectual disability at university - positioning Flinders as a leader in inclusive education and social impact. This project also identifies what is needed for success across the whole university, including student journey mapping and capacity building of university staff and services.
