Summary

This evidence synthesis examined the international and Australian evidence on employment supports for people with intellectual disability and how effective practices can be implemented in Australia. The review analysed 76 studies and identifies practical, evidence-based strategies that can help more people with intellectual disability obtain, maintain, and progress in meaningful open employment.

Impact

This report shows that people with intellectual disability achieve the best employment outcomes when services, employers, families, and support systems work together to provide personalised, long-term, and inclusive employment support.
