Summary
This evaluation develops and uses tools to measure change and SACID’s achievement of ILC outcomes. The evaluation is framed using the well-tested participatory evaluation framework (Weaver & Cousins, 2004). This establishes robust goals for participation and dimensions for testing depth and quality in participation (i.e. control of decision-making; diversity of participants; power relations; implementation; depth of participation) (Weaver & Cousins, 2004). The evaluation analyses how SACID’s peer and capacity building initiatives contribute to: the skills and knowledge of people with intellectual disability and families; the capacity of people with intellectual disability to contribute to co-design and organisational decision-making; and the effectiveness of improvements to organisational systems.
Impact
Findings will be directly reviewed by the organisation (SACID) and recommendations will be implemented into their practices.
