Summary

The project aims to address gaps in guidance on supporting ageing people with intellectual disability under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). It seeks to identify participants’ views on ageing, support needs, and potential support services and strategies needed in diverse circumstances and localities.

Impact

Intended outcomes are an innovative, evidence-based Agenda for Action and co-designed resources to guide healthy ageing and underpin policies and practices. The goal is to equip NDIS participants with intellectual disability and their supporters with information on healthy ageing, and provide stakeholders in the sector with knowledge and skills to plan and deliver effective services to enhance the quality of life as people age.
