Summary

Valued Lives' Job Design Co. is an innovative employment model designed to help people with disability find meaningful paid work in mainstream businesses. The model works closely with employers to create roles that match a person's strengths while meeting genuine business needs. The evaluation found that the   model offers several unique features, including an embedded Job Designer who works inside organisations, a focus on long-term career development, and   ongoing coaching for managers.

Impact

The evaluation found that Job Design Co. is making a positive difference for people with disability, families, and employers. Participants reported increased confidence, independence, belonging, career opportunities, and workplace inclusion. Employers described greater confidence in employing people with disability and valued the support provided by the embedded Job Designer. The model was also associated with improved retention, increased disability disclosure, stronger workplace culture, and positive outcomes that extend beyond employment itself, including enhanced wellbeing and community participation.
